With consistent supplies of high-quality Northwest blueberries from June through September, Oppy will be shipping organic and conventional fruit in Ocean Spray branded six-ounce, pint, 18-ounce and two-pound packs. Oppy is the exclusive supplier of Ocean Spray blueberries, as well as raspberries, strawberries, blackberries and cranberries.

“This year, we’re leading into the Northwest season with organic blueberries from California, bridging directly into organic blues from Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and ultimately into imports,” said Karin Gardner, director of corporate communications at Oppy.

The company’s Northwest blueberry program involves organic and conventional fruit grown in Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. “Very quickly in the last 12 months we’ve built a virtually year-round organic blueberry program,” she added.

The strength of the Ocean Spray brand is helping drive sales. Recent market research indicated that the brand is familiar and well-liked, with nearly 70 percent awareness and three in five Ocean Spray fresh berry purchasers having an extremely or very favorable opinion of the brand.

Ocean Spray berries also received high marks for having just the right ripeness, good berry color, firmness and overall appearance. The berry brand was a favored by 52 percent of respondents who stated they would consider Ocean Spray for their next berry purchase.
